Here’s a focused, energizing herbal recipe using ginseng (Panax or American) and holy basil (tulsi) - two powerful adaptogens known to support mental clarity, reduce brain fog, and improve focus without overstimulation.
🧠 Clarity & Focus Adaptogenic Tonic
With Ginseng + Holy Basil (Tulsi) Serves 1 | Best taken in the morning or early afternoon
🌿 Ingredients:
1/2 tsp ginseng powder (Panax for stimulation, American for gentler energy)
(or 1 capsule, opened)
1 tsp dried tulsi (holy basil) leaves (or 1 tulsi tea bag)
1/2 tsp dried gotu kola (optional for cognitive support)
1/2 tsp raw cacao powder (optional for mood + alertness)
1 cup hot water (not boiling)
1 tsp honey or coconut nectar (optional, for taste and blood sugar support)
🍵 Instructions:
Brew tulsi (and gotu kola if using) in hot water for 5–7 minutes, covered.
While steeping, mix ginseng powder and cacao (if using) in a mug.
Strain the tea (or remove the tea bag), then pour it into the mug with ginseng.
Stir well to combine. Add honey or a touch of healthy fat like MCT oil for sustained energy.
Sip slowly and mindfully to ease into your work or study session.
💡 Optional Enhancements:
Add a few drops of lemon extract or a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten flavor and aid absorption.
Blend with a splash of plant milk and serve iced for a summer brain-boosting refresher.
⚠️ Note:
If using ginseng extract or tincture, use 30–60 drops instead of powder.
Avoid using Panax ginseng late in the day to prevent sleep disturbances.
