International Fairy Day: More Than Fairy Stories

Every year on June 24th, families around the world celebrate International Fairy Day-a day dedicated to imagination, wonder, creativity, and a little bit of magic.

At Harvest Grove, fairy magic looks a little different.

Our fairies don't just sprinkle sparkles and fly through flower gardens. Each fairy is inspired by a real food and the natural compounds found inside it. From Ally Allicin and her garlic garden adventures to Anya Anthocyanin's plum-filled mysteries, every story begins with imagination and ends with a connection to the foods children see every day.

The stories themselves are written as magical adventures. Children don't need to know anything about nutrition to enjoy them. They can simply follow the characters, solve problems alongside them, and explore the colorful world of Harvest Grove.

For grown-ups, there's a little more hidden beneath the surface.

Each character represents a phytonutrient-a naturally occurring plant compound found in fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. At the end of every story, parents and caregivers can learn about the real foods that inspired the character and the role those foods play in a healthy diet.

As a clinical nutritionist, I wanted to create stories that spark imagination first while gently introducing children to the colorful foods that help them grow.

This International Fairy Day, I invite you to step into Harvest Grove, meet the fairies, and discover a world where magic and nature grow side by side.
